Minor Reserve Collection signs 310-key Phuket resort for 2031
The management agreement with Amal Group adds a 100-room hotel and 210 resort residences to a wider Bang Tao development, with a 2031 opening target.

Minor Reserve Collection has secured its first Asian signing through a management agreement for Gardens of Eden Resort Phuket. Minor Hotels will operate the development with Amal Group of Companies, with opening scheduled for 2031.
Announced on 30 October 2026, the project is planned for Bang Tao, around 250 metres from Phuket’s west coast shoreline. It will combine 100 hotel rooms with 210 residences operated within the resort’s accommodation inventory, bringing the total to 310 keys.
Minor Reserve Collection adds a mixed-use Phuket resort
The resort will anchor the wider Gardens of Eden development, which Minor describes as a 33-acre residential and wellness destination. The plan includes one-, two- and three-bedroom residences, a wellness facility exceeding 5,000 square metres and several dining venues.
Martin Palleros of Tierra Design is responsible for the design. Planned food and beverage facilities include all-day dining, two speciality restaurants, an organic café and a lobby lounge.
The announcement establishes a hotel management agreement, rather than an acquisition by Minor. The 2031 opening remains a development target, not an operating date for an existing resort.
Wellness and residential development shape the wider project
Reporting from the partnership announcement, Business Traveller described a wider programme of phased residential delivery around the hotel. It identified Eden, Park, Lake and Etro residential components, illustrating that different parts of Gardens of Eden are expected to arrive on different schedules.
The publication reported that the wellness centre is intended to include programmes addressing longevity, preventive health, fitness and sleep, potentially involving specialist partners. Those plans remain prospective, rather than services currently available at the proposed resort.
For hospitality operators, that mixed-use structure creates a different brief from a standalone hotel opening. The accommodation, residences, dining and wellness offer will need to function as a coherent guest experience while the broader destination develops.
A luxury soft brand with a growing international pipeline
Minor Reserve Collection was introduced in July 2025 as part of a four-brand expansion. The other additions were The Wolseley Hotels in luxury, Colbert Collection in the premium segment and iStay in select service.
The Reserve proposition is based on individual hotel character rather than a uniform property format. Minor’s launch announcement positioned the collection around distinctive destinations and personalised stays, supported by the group’s wider commercial infrastructure.
The brand expansion followed the development of Minor Hotels as a consumer-facing masterbrand, alongside investment in digital distribution and the consolidated Minor DISCOVERY loyalty programme. That combination gives owners another route into the group’s portfolio without relying solely on one of its established hotel brands.
Phuket joins London and Brazil in the development programme
In the UK, Minor signed a management agreement for Dukes London, an 85-key hotel in St James’s scheduled to reopen in the second quarter of 2027. The property is undergoing a transformation led by Russell Sage Studio, while retaining the identity of its longstanding hotel and bar.
The London agreement illustrates the collection’s conversion and heritage opportunity. Phuket represents a different application: a new resort embedded in a larger residential destination. WINC Wire previously examined the Dukes London signing.
In Brazil, Aventora Resort Baía Formosa was announced in January 2026 as the first signing under the new collection. Owned by Gremi International Group and planned for 2028, it combines 50 guest rooms and 28 branded residences in Rio Grande do Norte. Its accommodation mix also places residential development alongside hotel operations.
Gardens of Eden extends that pipeline into Asia, with a substantially larger proposed inventory and a later opening horizon. Its progress will be measured through delivery of the resort and its operating facilities, rather than the signing alone. The wellness element also sits within the wider direction explored in WINC Wire’s coverage of Minor Hotels’ Life Longevity brand.
