Yule Peixoto named GM of Kimpton Grand Roatán
Kimpton Grand Roatán Resort & Spa has promoted Yule Peixoto to General Manager, continuing his progression through the resort’s leadership team.

Yule Peixoto has been promoted to General Manager of Kimpton Grand Roatán Resort & Spa in Honduras, stepping up from Hotel Manager to lead the property’s operations, people and guest experience.

The promotion was announced in late October, with the appointment reported on 29 October. Peixoto joined the resort as Resort Manager in 2024 and became Hotel Manager earlier in 2026. The latest move extends that internal progression to the property’s top operating role.
In a public message welcoming the promotion, former General Manager Diego Padula credited Peixoto’s support and leadership during their time working together. Peixoto, responding to the message, acknowledged the importance of that guidance and the confidence placed in him by the team, ownership and IHG.
The exchange adds a useful people-management dimension to the announcement: this is a succession involving an established member of the resort’s leadership team, not an external arrival unfamiliar with the property.
International experience across several hotel groups
Originally from Brazil, Peixoto has nearly two decades of hospitality experience across Brazil, Cuba, Mexico and Honduras. His career includes leadership positions with IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International and Starwood, Banyan Tree, Blue Diamond Resorts and Carmel Hotels.
Before joining Kimpton Grand Roatán, his work included general management and senior operational roles, hotel openings and team development. His academic background combines international hospitality management and human resources with postgraduate business studies and an MBA in leadership and team management.
He speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish, a relevant combination for a career that has crossed several Latin American and Caribbean markets.
A Caribbean resort beyond the room business
Kimpton Grand Roatán opened under the brand in October 2023 on West Bay Beach, with access to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. IHG’s opening announcement described a resort designed around accommodation, dining, wellness and events, rather than rooms alone.
The launch programme included four restaurants and bars, nearly 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and Kao Kamasa Spa. Vista Capital owned and developed the resort, which reimagined the previous Grand Roatán Caribbean Resort.
IHG also highlighted the property’s links with local craft and food production, including artwork and furniture made on the island and nearby communities. These are useful points of context for a general manager: the destination experience depends on relationships beyond the hotel’s own departments.
More recently, IHG’s September 2026 announcement listed Kimpton Grand Roatán among the hotels awarded One MICHELIN Key. That recognition concerns the hotel experience, rather than a restaurant star rating.
Continuity with a wider leadership remit
For the resort, promoting an existing operational leader offers continuity while widening accountability. Peixoto already knows the property, but the general manager position brings the whole operation, ownership relationship and team into a single leadership brief.
The measured significance is therefore internal development, not a promised transformation. Neither the appointment announcement nor the personal messages set out a new capital programme or quantified performance targets. The next chapter will be judged by how consistently the resort’s teams deliver its existing guest proposition under his leadership.
