Series by Marriott South Korea has its first hotel, with the opening of the 104-room Anook Signature Seoul Guro, Series by Marriott, in the south-west of the capital. The opening was announced on 29 September in a Marriott International release.

The 17-storey property sits in Seoul’s south-western business corridor, close to the Guro Digital Complex. It is about 16 km from Gimpo International Airport and 57 km from Incheon International Airport, with access to Guro, Gasan, Yeouido and other west Seoul districts.

What Series by Marriott South Korea offers at Guro

The hotel has 104 guestrooms and suites, ranging from Standard Rooms to Junior and Penthouse Suites. Rooms have individual climate control, a 43-inch LED television and a dedicated work area. Some suites add a separate living area or an in-room whirlpool, and accessible rooms are available.

Facilities include:

  • Anook Restaurant, serving Korean cuisine
  • A sauna and a fitness centre
  • Meeting space for small groups and a business centre
  • A rooftop lounge and an outdoor terrace

The name Anook comes from a Korean word associated with cosiness and comfort. The hotel describes its design as a “Layered Urban Retreat”, with clean lines, warm wood tones and indirect lighting, and promotes a “Recovery Ritual” that takes guests from the sauna to dinner and then to bed.

Quotes from Marriott and The Hyusik

Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, said: “The debut of Series by Marriott in South Korea marks another important step in the brand’s expansion across Asia Pacific.” He added: “Through Series by Marriott, we are bringing regionally recognized hotel groups into our portfolio while preserving the character and familiarity that have earned the trust of local travelers.”

Shin Hyun-wook and Kim Jun-ha, Co-CEOs of The Hyusik, said: “Travel demand in Korea is expanding beyond the city center into districts where daily life and business intersect, and Anook Signature Hotel Seoul Guro, Series by Marriott, will offer a new option for travelers seeking dependable, well-executed stays at a reasonable value.”

Series by Marriott in Asia Pacific

Series by Marriott groups established, regionally recognised hotel brands into one portfolio, with Marriott Bonvoy members earning points and benefits at participating hotels. The Series by Marriott South Korea opening follows the brand’s global debut in India in 2025 and its entry into Japan in April 2026. WINC Wire has tracked that rollout, including the pace of signings in India, the brand’s move into Europe and its eight-hotel Netherlands deal.

Three more Series by Marriott South Korea hotels are expected by the end of 2026: in Insadong in Seoul, Guwol in Incheon and Haeundae in Busan. Marriott did not give opening dates for those hotels, nor room rates or the terms of the agreement with The Hyusik. Further details of the Guro hotel are on its Marriott property page.
