Hotel Indigo reaches 200 open hotels with 134 more in IHG’s pipeline
IHG's lifestyle brand has doubled in size since 2019 and has another 134 properties in its pipeline, including a first hotel in Saudi Arabia and its first branded residences.

IHG’s lifestyle brand has doubled in size since 2019 and has another 134 properties in its pipeline, including a first hotel in Saudi Arabia and its first branded residences.
Hotel Indigo now has 200 open hotels, after IHG Hotels & Resorts opened the 200th property under the boutique-style brand it launched in 2004. Hotel Indigo now operates in more than 30 countries, up from 100 open hotels in 2019, according to figures as at 30 June 2026.
IHG has a further 134 Hotel Indigo properties in development, the company said in an announcement on 5 October. It did not name the hotel that took the brand to 200.
Two years of new markets
Hotel Indigo is positioned within IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, with each property designed around the character and history of its neighbourhood. Over the past two years the brand has entered the Caribbean with Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, Portugal with Hotel Indigo Albufeira and Peru with Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores.
In the Americas, recent openings include the brand’s first hotel in Turks and Caicos, Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos Grace Bay, together with Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortes and Hotel Indigo Tijuana Downtown in Mexico and Hotel Indigo Raleigh in North Carolina. IHG has also signed Hotel Indigo Guanacaste in Costa Rica.
Across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, the brand has opened Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor in Thailand and two UK hotels: Hotel Indigo Gloucester, The Forum, and Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush. In Greater China, Hotel Indigo Ningbo has opened, with Hotel Indigo Chongqing Chaotianmen and Hotel Indigo Jingdezhen Taoxichuan to follow.
Saudi Arabia and first residences
The pipeline includes two firsts for the brand. Hotel Indigo Riyadh Al Olaya is due to open next year as the brand’s debut in Saudi Arabia, and a first signing in Egypt will include the first Hotel Indigo branded residences anywhere in the world. Recent EMEAA signings also include Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang Beach in Thailand.
Vicki Poulos, Vice President, Luxury & Lifestyle brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Reaching 200 open hotels is a significant moment for Hotel Indigo and a testament to the strength of the brand.”
Lifestyle growth across IHG
IHG has more than 6,000 open hotels across 17 brands in over 100 countries, with a further 1,800 in its development pipeline. Its lifestyle expansion this year has extended beyond Hotel Indigo, with Kimpton entering the all-inclusive market and preparing a Rome debut, and the Noted Collection soft brand arriving in Japan.
What 200 open hotels means for the brand
Reaching 200 open hotels means Hotel Indigo has added 100 properties since 2019, and its pipeline of 134 properties is equivalent to roughly two thirds of its open estate. The brand’s next stage of growth is focused on new countries and formats, from Saudi Arabia to branded residences in Egypt, rather than solely adding hotels in existing markets.
