IHG Hotels & Resorts has surpassed 1,000 open hotels in Europe, reaching a new regional milestone as recent additions strengthen its presence across luxury, lifestyle and premium segments.

Karin Sheppard, IHG’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Europe, announced the milestone in a LinkedIn update on 22 October 2026. She credited hotel colleagues, corporate teams, owners and partners for the group’s growth across the region.

The accompanying presentation highlighted three properties: The Hari London, Vignette Collection; Ruby Lilou Hotel Marseille; and Crowne Plaza Vienna. The update did not identify a single hotel as the 1,000th opening.

Recent additions in London, Marseille and Vienna

In London, the 85-room The Hari London, Vignette Collection brings an established Belgravia hotel into IHG’s luxury collection brand. Its addition forms part of a three-hotel franchise agreement with Harilela Group announced in August, covering The Hari London, The Hari Hong Kong and the future The Hari Singapore.

The arrangement extends a relationship between IHG and Harilela spanning more than five decades. The London property retains its own identity within Vignette Collection, which allows independent hotels to access IHG’s distribution and loyalty platform.

In France, Ruby Lilou marked Ruby’s entry into the country. IHG announced the Marseille opening on 5 October. The 237-room hotel sits between the Vieux Port and La Joliette, combining accommodation with a 24-hour bar and café and a 300 sq m rooftop terrace.

The opening also introduced Ruby Yani, the first Ruby Workspaces location in France. Its flexible workstations, offices and meeting rooms broaden the property’s offer beyond overnight stays. Ruby Group operates the hotel and workspace; IHG acquired the Ruby brand in 2025.

Crowne Plaza Vienna returns the brand to Austria. The 195-room property in the Margareten district is operated in partnership with FEURING Asset Management. IHG’s June signing announcement set out a hotel designed to serve corporate, meetings and leisure demand, with architecture by David Chipperfield.

Conversions underpin the wider European expansion

The milestone follows a period of substantial portfolio integration. In its 2025 full-year results, published in February 2026, IHG said it was approaching 1,000 open hotels in Europe, with more than 250 in the regional pipeline at that time.

The same results recorded 96 hotels converted to IHG brands through the NOVUM Hospitality agreement by the end of 2025. Alongside the latest additions, that programme illustrates the role of conversions and owner partnerships in expanding IHG’s European network.
