QURO Bangkok Riverside has opened as Thailand’s first Unscripted by Hyatt hotel, bringing the 62-room former The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit into the group’s upscale collection brand.

Hyatt announced the opening on 20 October 2026. The change is a rebranding of an existing riverside property rather than the addition of a newly built hotel. Its location is on Phra Arthit Road in Bangkok’s historic Bang Lamphu neighbourhood.

In its official announcement, Hyatt said QURO joins a portfolio of 16 hotels in Thailand. The property also participates in World of Hyatt, with earning and redemption available on eligible stays under the programme’s terms.

QURO Bangkok Riverside centres its identity on local art

General manager Sunshine Jeamjirarut said the QURO name derives from “Curate”. The hotel’s identity combines art, local experiences and an unhurried approach to service.

The hotel’s current property listing places it beside the Chao Phraya River, at 45/1 Phra Arthit Road in Phra Nakhon. Phra Arthit Pier is alongside the hotel, offering a river transport connection for visitors exploring the city.

All 62 rooms have private balconies. The accommodation range includes Standard and Superior rooms facing the neighbourhood, plus Deluxe King and Premium King options with river views. The hotel’s room details list Deluxe King Riverview rooms at 39 square metres and the Premium King Riverview at 46 square metres.

The Premium King includes a private corner balcony, a sofa bed and a bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. Its locally sourced touches include coffee from Nan province and handmade mugs from Khon Kaen. Selected river-facing rooms feature murals by Thai artist Gongkan.

Rooftop, restaurant and gallery spaces

QURO Bangkok Riverside’s public areas extend the art-led positioning beyond the guestrooms. QURO GALLERY and QURO SOURCED occupy the lobby, combining an art space with a curated retail offer for hotel guests and visitors.

BEANS Coffee Roaster sits within the gallery. Silpa Riverside Restaurant serves Thai food beside the river, while the Point of View rooftop bar shares the upper-level setting with the swimming pool. The hotel’s dining information places the rooftop venue on the sixth floor and the restaurant at ground level.

The property lists a fitness centre, internet access, laundry and room service among its amenities. Nearby attractions include Khao San Road, the National Museum and the Grand Palace, with Wat Arun accessible by boat from the neighbouring pier.

A flexible brand gains its first Thai address

Hyatt introduced Unscripted by Hyatt in May 2025 as an upscale collection within its Essentials portfolio. The proposition gives independent hotels and small portfolios a route into Hyatt’s distribution and loyalty network without requiring them to surrender their individual identity.

Flexible brand standards and a light-touch operating model were central to that launch. Hyatt positioned the collection around adaptive reuse and conversion opportunities, making existing properties a core part of its development approach.

The brand’s expansion in Southeast Asia also includes Vietnam. In January 2026, Hyatt announced that six operating Wink hotels had joined Unscripted, taking its Vietnamese portfolio from four hotels to ten. That agreement covered city and coastal locations, including Saigon, Danang and Can Tho, and illustrated the collection’s capacity to accommodate an existing local hotel brand.

QURO Bangkok Riverside gives that model a Thai presence through an established hotel with its own name, artwork and neighbourhood setting. The opening adds a different brand option to Hyatt’s Bangkok offer while retaining the property’s small-scale riverside format.
