Hilton Pay with Points launches at 150 US hotels
Hilton has introduced app-based points redemption at checkout for eligible Honors members, starting with 150 US hotels.

Hilton Pay with Points has launched at 150 participating hotels in the United States, allowing eligible Hilton Honors members to use their loyalty balance towards hotel charges during digital checkout.
Announced on 21 October, the benefit is available to Silver, Gold, Diamond and Diamond Reserve members through the Hilton Honors app. Hilton expects to extend it to more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026, followed by more than 6,000 participating properties across the US and Canada in early 2027.
The rollout brings points redemption into the departure process, with practical implications for how hotel teams explain eligibility, resolve billing questions and support guests using the app.
Hilton Pay with Points moves into digital checkout
Members can review their hotel bill, choose an available redemption option and apply points to eligible charges without visiting reception. Availability and the charges that qualify can vary by property.
Hilton says the launch responds to member research in which 70% of those surveyed expressed interest in using points for on-property purchases. The announcement does not disclose the survey sample or fieldwork dates, so the finding should be read as Hilton’s own customer research.
The company describes the service as the first fully digital checkout offering of its kind among major hotel brands. That is Hilton’s claim, rather than an independently established industry comparison.
What participating hotel teams need to know
Hilton’s help centre sets out several conditions that matter before a guest reaches departure day. The correct Honors number must be attached to the reservation before check-in; adding it afterwards does not make that booking eligible.
Redemption takes place on the scheduled checkout date in the mobile app. Front-desk agents cannot apply Pay with Points to a guest’s bill themselves. Where points cover only part of the balance, the remainder must also be settled through the app using the payment method on file, rather than paid separately at reception.
Completed transactions cannot be adjusted, refunded or reversed by the hotel or customer care. That makes accurate bills and a clear explanation of the final confirmation step especially important.
Hilton also lists confidential bills, third-party reservations and already-completed checkouts among reasons the option may not appear. Eligible members must have points available in their account.
Front-office readiness for Hilton Pay with Points
For front-office leaders, the immediate task is helping colleagues distinguish a booking that qualifies from one that does not. An app-based transaction can still generate an in-person question, particularly where guests expect reception to complete or reverse it.
Clear pre-arrival information and accurate folios will therefore remain important alongside the digital transaction. Hilton Pay with Points gives eligible members another redemption route, while the staged rollout leaves availability dependent on the individual hotel.
