Far East Hospitality will bring 26 hotels and serviced residences into GHA DISCOVERY in early 2027 under an agreement announced with Global Hotel Alliance on 21 October.

The participating portfolio comprises 6,212 rooms across Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. It spans five brands: Oasia, Quincy, Rendezvous, Village and Far East Collection.

For the Singapore-based operator, the agreement offers access to a wider loyalty network while preserving its brands’ individual identities. For property teams, the next stage will be preparing to deliver shared recognition and rewards across both hotels and serviced residences.

The agreement does not mean benefits are already available at the participating properties.

GHA says its programme has more than 38 million members. The alliance’s wider network comprises around 60 brands and 1,000 hotels in 100 countries.

Chris Hartley, GHA’s chief executive, linked the agreement to the ability of regional hotel groups to extend their reach while retaining their own positioning. Far East Hospitality managing director Mark Rohner likewise highlighted the value of connecting distinctive brands with an international audience.

How the shared rewards programme works

GHA DISCOVERY uses DISCOVERY Dollars, with D$1 equivalent to US$1 in value against eligible charges. Its published programme information allows rewards to be used for accommodation and other qualifying hotel purchases, including dining and spa experiences, subject to the applicable terms.

The programme also offers member rates, local offers and experiences. Recognition benefits vary by membership level and can include room upgrades, early check-in and late checkout.

Members can progress through its tiers through qualifying nights, eligible spending, or stays across multiple participating brands. That cross-brand structure is relevant to a regional operator bringing several differently positioned brands into one programme.

Recognition becomes an operating responsibility

For hotel leaders, joining a shared loyalty platform raises a service-delivery question as well as a distribution opportunity: how consistently will a member’s status and benefits be recognised at each property?

Reservations, reception and guest-relations teams will need clear guidance on the launch date, qualifying bookings and the benefits their own property can provide. Serviced residences may also encounter different guest questions from short-stay hotels, making property-level communication important.

Property-specific activation dates have yet to be announced. Until then, teams should distinguish the future partnership from benefits that guests can already use when they book.
