Country Inn Hotels & Resorts has opened Country Inn Smart Stays, Gurgaon, a 29-room hotel in DLF Phase 1 on Golf Course Road. The Golf Course Road opening extends Espire Hospitality’s compact hotel format into a major corporate travel market.
The property marks the Smart Stays format’s entry into Delhi NCR and gives parent company Espire Hospitality a more focused presence in one of Gurugram’s principal business and lifestyle districts.
Its immediate catchment includes Global Business Park, DLF Cyber City, CyberHub, One Horizon Centre and MG Road. Arjun Market is located opposite the hotel, while Qutub Plaza is within walking distance. For guests making short corporate trips or extended business visits, that proximity to offices, dining and everyday services forms a central part of the proposition.
The hotel offers Deluxe and Classic accommodation, with select rooms featuring balconies. Deluxe rooms range from 190 to 210 sq ft, while the larger Classic rooms measure approximately 320 sq ft. Both categories include work desks, seating and essential in-room amenities.
Shared spaces have also been incorporated into each floor. Bookshelves and informal seating areas give guests somewhere to work, read or take a break outside their rooms without requiring the scale of a conventional hotel lobby or business centre.
The dining model is similarly streamlined. Instead of operating a traditional restaurant, the hotel offers a curated menu prepared by a partner cloud kitchen and delivered to guestrooms. Breakfast is available on a pre-order basis for guests booking an inclusive rate.
Taken together, these choices show what the Smart Stays proposition means in operational terms. The format concentrates on accommodation, connectivity and practical communal spaces while limiting the heavier infrastructure associated with full-service restaurants, banqueting and extensive recreational facilities.
For a hotel with only 29 rooms, that narrower service model may allow the facilities to remain proportionate to the size of the property. Its effectiveness, however, will depend on whether food delivery, housekeeping and other essential services can be provided with the consistency expected from a branded hotel.
The Gurgaon opening follows Smart Stays properties in Rishikesh and Patna. Moving the format into Golf Course Road also broadens its application. While Rishikesh is driven largely by leisure, spiritual and adventure travel, Gurugram presents a more weekday-oriented corporate market with significant competition across branded hotels, serviced accommodation and independent properties.
Location alone will therefore not be enough. The property will need to distinguish itself through dependable service, ease of booking and a guest experience that feels considered despite the deliberately limited facilities.
Akhil Arora, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Espire Hospitality Limited, said the group intends to add more properties in Gurgaon and enter Noida. Its regional plans also include a forthcoming ZANA Luxury Escape in Sohna, giving the company scope to address different demand segments across Delhi NCR.
The opening forms part of a broader expansion programme. In its June 2026 business update, Espire said it managed 20 hotels and resorts and had a development pipeline approaching 1,000 rooms across markets including Gurugram, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Sohna. The company is pursuing growth across luxury, boutique and mid-market hospitality through its ZANA and Country Inn brands.
At 29 rooms, Country Inn Smart Stays, Gurgaon will not materially alter the city’s hotel supply. Its significance lies instead in its potential as a repeatable urban format.
If Espire can combine a compact physical footprint with reliable service and sustained corporate demand, Smart Stays could provide the group with a less complex route into high-value city locations. Gurgaon will be an important test of whether that model can move successfully from emerging leisure destinations into one of India’s most competitive business travel markets.
