Marriott’s Hyderabad cluster has appointed Ankita Bhawsinka as Cluster Director of Marketing, placing her in charge of marketing strategy across a four-property portfolio spanning Hyderabad and Tirupati.

In her new role, Bhawsinka will oversee brand positioning, integrated communications, public relations, digital marketing, content strategy, partnerships and guest engagement initiatives for Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre, Courtyard by Marriott Hyderabad, Marriott Executive Apartments Hyderabad and Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati.

The appointment gives Marriott’s regional portfolio a senior marketing leader at a particularly active stage for the cluster. Bhawsinka will support the relaunch of Courtyard by Marriott Hyderabad, contribute to the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati, and drive distinct market positioning for Marriott Executive Apartments Hyderabad and Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre.

She will also work closely with Marriott’s South Asia and global marketing teams on launches, campaign shoots, social media, public relations and digital touchpoints, with a focus on strengthening brand visibility, guest engagement and recall across the portfolio.

Bhawsinka brings more than 14 years of experience across hospitality marketing, business development, digital strategy, media planning, public relations and brand communications. Her career includes marketing leadership roles with JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, The Ritz-Carlton Pune, Hyatt Regency Pune and Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway.

That background is relevant because the portfolio she now oversees is not a single-property marketing assignment. It brings together different hotel formats, demand segments and guest occasions. Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre carries a meetings, business and city-hotel proposition. Courtyard by Marriott Hyderabad serves modern business and city travellers. Marriott Executive Apartments Hyderabad addresses extended-stay and apartment-style demand. Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati brings Marriott’s select-service positioning into a destination shaped by religious, family and regional travel.

For a cluster marketing leader, the challenge is to avoid treating all four properties as one generic portfolio. Each hotel needs its own market story, while still benefiting from Marriott’s wider brand architecture, loyalty ecosystem and distribution strength. The role requires a balance between local positioning and brand consistency.

Hyderabad itself is a complex hospitality market. It draws demand from corporate travel, technology, healthcare, education, events, weddings, government, domestic leisure and international business. Marketing in such a market cannot depend only on broad hotel visibility. It needs sharper segmentation, stronger content, better channel planning and more purposeful partnerships across business, leisure and events audiences.

The inclusion of Tirupati adds another layer. Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati operates in a very different demand environment from Hyderabad. Tirupati’s hotel market is shaped by pilgrimage, family travel, domestic movement, regional business and shorter-stay patterns. Positioning a Marriott-branded property in that context requires marketing that understands both the destination’s emotional importance and the expectations of modern hotel guests.

Bhawsinka’s remit across public relations, digital marketing and content strategy is therefore important. Hotel marketing is now shaped by several overlapping channels: direct search, online travel platforms, social discovery, loyalty-driven bookings, influencer-led visibility, corporate relationships, wedding and event leads, and local partnerships. A cluster role must bring those channels together without losing the identity of each property.

Her experience across luxury and upscale hotel brands should support that work. Properties such as JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu and The Ritz-Carlton Pune operate in environments where brand storytelling, guest experience, media visibility, social content and commercial campaigns must reinforce one another. That experience becomes useful when managing a portfolio that needs both individual positioning and cluster-wide momentum.

Commenting on the appointment, Bhawsinka said the cluster’s diverse brands across business segments offer a unique product portfolio. She noted that Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre has long been a landmark in the city’s hospitality landscape, while Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati is set to make an impact in its market. She said she looks forward to shaping campaigns that elevate brand visibility and strengthen each property’s presence across every touchpoint.

The appointment also reflects a broader shift in hotel marketing. Marketing leaders are no longer responsible only for campaigns, media visibility and promotional calendars. They are increasingly expected to influence revenue quality, direct booking performance, brand partnerships, guest engagement, content strategy and the commercial story behind each hotel.

For Marriott’s Hyderabad and Tirupati portfolio, that makes the Cluster Director of Marketing role strategically important. The properties need to speak to different audiences while remaining connected through Marriott’s wider standards and brand ecosystem. A convention-led city hotel, a business-oriented Courtyard, an extended-stay apartments product and a Tirupati opening all require different marketing muscles.

Bhawsinka’s task will be to bring those muscles together. Her mandate is not simply to create visibility, but to build distinct positioning across four assets that serve different markets and guest needs. If done well, the role can help the cluster sharpen demand, strengthen brand recall and support commercial performance across both established and emerging property stories.

For Bhawsinka, the move represents a senior cluster marketing mandate within Marriott’s India portfolio. For the hotels, it brings in a marketing leader with experience across luxury, upscale and international hospitality brands at a time when differentiation, digital reach and guest engagement are becoming more central to hotel performance.
