Baccarat Maldives launches Adriana Lima residences campaign
Baccarat Hotel & Residences Maldives has launched a residential campaign featuring Adriana Lima. The announcement is a marketing milestone, not confirmation of a hotel opening.

Baccarat Maldives has launched a residential brand campaign featuring model Adriana Lima, with photography by Russell James. Announced on 23 October, the campaign promotes private ownership at the planned island development rather than marking the opening of a hotel.
The latest announcement describes 62 private residences and 50 hotel villas across five islands in the South Malé Atoll. It also introduces five golf residences around a nine-hole course. The imagery presents family time, swimming and everyday island life as part of the ownership proposition.
Baccarat Maldives remains a forthcoming destination
Baccarat’s official destination directory continues to list the Maldives property as coming soon. It sits alongside other forthcoming Baccarat destinations including Rome, Dubai and Diriyah, while New York is identified as open.
The operator’s original project announcement in March 2024 targeted an opening in 2027. The new campaign does not provide a revised opening date, confirm that hotel operations have begun or announce a new sales phase.
That distinction matters for hotel owners, advisers and commercial teams tracking the Maldives pipeline. A residential marketing campaign can raise a project’s visibility without establishing when paying hotel guests will be welcomed. The earlier 2027 target should therefore be read as the announced development timetable, not a newly confirmed opening commitment.
Hotel services underpin the residential offer
The original development announcement named Madevco Holdings as the owner and MDC Investments as the developer, with the hospitality operation under the company now known as Starwood Hotels. It set out a mixed hotel and residential model, supported by dining, wellness, leisure and cultural facilities.
The project website identifies HKS as architect and 1508 London as interior designer. Its residential plans emphasise furnished homes, private pools, outdoor dining and yoga pavilions, alongside access to the wider resort experience. These features position the development around extended use and private living as well as conventional hotel stays.
For operators, that combination creates a different service brief from a standalone resort. Resident relationships are ongoing, while hotel teams also serve guests arriving for shorter stays. Clear responsibilities for housekeeping, maintenance, dining reservations and shared facilities will be important to translating the branded promise into a consistent experience.
The immediate news is a marketing milestone. Delivery dates, the opening programme and the operating arrangements remain separate questions from the lifestyle presented in the campaign.
