BWH Hotels is adopting WorldHotels as its global masterbrand, bringing more than 4,000 hotels and 18 brands under a shared identity. A combined WorldHotels Rewards programme is scheduled to launch on 5 January 2027, connecting approximately 70 million existing members.

Announced in Phoenix on 27 October 2026, the change is intended to make the breadth of the portfolio easier to recognise. Further loyalty details are due on 16 November.

WorldHotels becomes the umbrella brand

The company’s transition guidance distinguishes the new corporate identity from the names guests see above individual hotels. Best Western remains a flagship brand. Best Western Plus, BW Premier Collection, SureStay and the other portfolio brands continue within the wider group.

WorldHotels Collection has a separate role as the group’s curated luxury and upscale collection. The distinction matters for owners and guests: the WorldHotels name now describes the wider network, rather than only its premium independent properties.

Existing and future reservations, including group bookings, will be honoured. The company says customers do not need to take action to protect their bookings during the transition.

What changes for loyalty members

According to the WorldHotels Rewards transition page, accounts will move automatically. Members retain their membership number, points balance and earned status, with status moving to a corresponding tier.

Points will transfer at the same value and will continue not to expire. Existing members can keep using their 16-digit membership number, with the final 10 digits also available as a shorter option.

The programme will support earning and redemption across Best Western and WorldHotels properties. Eligible stays will continue to count towards qualifying nights under programme rules. Redemption options include free nights and combinations of points and cash.

New milestone rewards and app-only offers are planned. Full benefit details, including the new tier structure and lifetime status arrangements, remain to be disclosed. For front-office and reservations teams, that makes clear communication about confirmed benefits particularly important before launch.

Hotel teams underpin the digital proposition

The group has also introduced a new website and redesigned app. Its discovery platform draws on more than 10,000 hours of input from hotel teams, intended to help travellers find properties and neighbourhood experiences. The business aim is greater visibility and more direct-booking opportunities for owners.

“WorldHotels gives us a clearer way to tell our story,” said president and chief executive Larry Cuculic.

For hotel operators, the practical test will be whether a shared booking and loyalty experience helps guests discover properties beyond the brand they already know. Property teams will also need to explain how the umbrella identity relates to the hotel where a guest is actually staying.

A transition to watch into January

The next milestone is the November disclosure, followed by the January loyalty launch. Until then, operational preparation centres on consistent guest information rather than assumptions about benefits that have not yet been published.

The announcement follows other efforts to extend loyalty reach and simplify use. WINC Wire recently covered Far East Hospitality’s plan to add 26 properties to GHA DISCOVERY and Hilton’s Pay with Points launch at 150 US hotels.
