Oakwood Epping Melbourne sets 122-room opening for November
Oakwood Epping Melbourne is accepting bookings for a 2 November opening, bringing 122 studios and apartments to Melbourne’s northern corridor.

Oakwood Epping Melbourne is taking bookings ahead of a scheduled opening on 2 November 2026, adding 122 studios and apartments to Melbourne’s northern suburbs. The property will become Oakwood’s second Australian location, extending the brand beyond its existing Oakwood Premier Melbourne hotel.
The Ascott Limited is positioning the new address for corporate, healthcare, relocation and group accommodation, as well as visitors staying with family in the area. Its apartment format places everyday living facilities at the centre of that offer.
Oakwood Epping Melbourne targets the northern corridor
The property is located at 160 Cooper Street, Epping, close to Northern Hospital and Pacific Epping Shopping Centre. That setting makes local employment, healthcare and community visits relevant demand sources, rather than relying solely on visitors seeking a city-centre hotel.
For extended-stay operators, proximity to the purpose of a trip can be as important as proximity to conventional tourist attractions. A base near work or healthcare facilities can reduce the friction of repeated journeys, while apartment-style accommodation offers greater flexibility for guests settling into a routine.
Studios and apartments support different stays
The hotel’s published room range includes 25-square-metre Studio Deluxe accommodation, 44-square-metre one-bedroom apartments and 67-square-metre two-bedroom apartments. Accessible and interconnecting two-bedroom options are also listed, giving organisers a broader range of configurations.
Ascott’s pre-opening communications highlight kitchen and laundry facilities, twin-share options and group rates. These are practical features for teams, families and project travellers, whose requirements can differ from those of a short-break guest. Room selection will still depend on the size and needs of each booking, rather than a single standard apartment arrangement.
Shared facilities complement the apartment product
Onsite amenities include food and beverage, secure parking, a gym and an upper-level alfresco terrace with barbecue facilities. The combination gives guests alternatives to spending all their time in their rooms, while preserving the independence associated with serviced accommodation.
For the operator, the proposition is a balance between self-contained living and hospitality support. Cooking and laundry facilities address daily needs; shared spaces and services provide reasons to use the wider property. How those elements are maintained and coordinated will help determine the experience after the opening period.
A second Australian location, with Adelaide to follow
The Epping launch expands Oakwood’s presence within Melbourne rather than taking the brand into a new Australian city. A further property, Oakwood Premier Adelaide, is planned for late 2027, according to the company’s current Australian communications.
The new Epping address also adds another format to Melbourne’s accommodation pipeline. WINC has separately reported on Brady Group’s Elizabeth Street hotel project, while Novotel Brisbane City Centre’s planned November opening illustrates wider activity in Australia’s branded hotel market.
For Oakwood, the immediate milestone remains the first arrivals on 2 November. With bookings open, the next step is turning its northern Melbourne location and apartment facilities into a consistent operating offer for the guest groups it is targeting.
