Preferred Hotels & Resorts has promoted Roberta Possenti to Senior Vice President, Europe, expanding her responsibility for hotel partnerships across the continent. The BusinessMobility.Travel report shared on LinkedIn says the role adds northern and central Europe to her previous southern European remit.

Possenti will continue to report to Brenda Collin, Executive Vice President, Europe. The report describes a European network of more than 250 hotels and says Possenti has spent over 24 years with the group.

Preferred also identifies Possenti by her new title in its corporate update on the International Society of Hospitality Consultants conference in Rome.

Roberta Possenti’s European hotel career

The company’s May 2021 leadership announcement records Possenti’s earlier promotion to Vice President of Europe, based in Milan. That role involved working with Collin on member hotel retention and development.

Before that, she was Managing Director of Southern Europe. Preferred credited her with bringing more than 40 independent hotels and resorts in Italy, Greece and Malta into its portfolio. These were the figures reported in 2021, rather than a current total for her career.

Her earlier experience included a decade in hospitality sales with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels & Resorts, covering corporate, leisure and group business.

Supporting independent hotels across a wider region

Preferred’s commercial model centres on independent hotels retaining their individual identities while accessing shared sales, marketing and distribution resources. In its Rome conference update, the company highlighted the importance of tools, expertise and access to audiences in supporting independent hotel performance.

The promotion extends a career focused on bringing independent properties into the portfolio and maintaining member relationships, now across a wider set of European markets.
