The proposed portfolio spans resorts, city hotels, airport accommodation and convention facilities, with projects at different development stages.

The Accor Dominican Republic pipeline now covers 23 hotel projects and nearly 6,000 rooms, following new agreements announced during Dominican Republic Week in France.

The portfolio includes more than 1,000 proposed branded residences and, according to Accor, could support up to 9,000 direct jobs. The group published the announcement on 20 October after a signing ceremony at its Paris headquarters.

The pipeline combines signed agreements with memoranda of understanding. The figures therefore describe planned development at different stages, rather than hotels already open or a single construction programme with a confirmed delivery date.

Accor Dominican Republic pipeline spans several markets

The proposed portfolio reaches beyond the country’s established beach-resort business. It includes urban and airport hotels alongside leisure resorts, branded residences and meetings facilities.

Among the named projects is Pullman Juan Dolio, planned with 400 rooms above a 4,000-seat convention centre. Novotel Punta Cana, a 102-room franchise property, is scheduled to open in 2027.

Handwritten Collection properties are also planned for Miches and Cabrera, while agreements for ibis and ibis budget would extend the group’s economy offer across several Dominican destinations.

Different hotels will require different teams

For hospitality employers, the variety of projects is as important as the headline room count. A convention-focused property has a different operating brief from an airport hotel, while a branded-residence development brings another pattern of guest and owner expectations.

That mix makes a single recruitment model unlikely to suit the entire pipeline. Event operations, rooms management, food and beverage, engineering and service leadership would need to be planned around the facilities and opening sequence of each individual development.

The potential employment figure is not a statement of current vacancies. Recruitment timing will depend on individual developments moving towards opening.

From agreements to delivery

Accor describes its development offer as a combination of brands, distribution and operating support for owners. Across a multi-brand pipeline, that places the emphasis on matching each property’s location and intended demand with a suitable hotel proposition.

For prospective employees, suppliers and local partners, the practical next information to watch is project-specific: which agreements advance, when construction begins and when pre-opening teams are appointed.
