Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) has promoted Craig Bond to the role of chief operating officer, a strategic appointment that strengthens the Singapore-headquartered company’s executive leadership team as it enters its next phase of global expansion.

Bond steps into the newly elevated position following his tenure as senior vice president, head of operations – a role he took on in late 2023 when he rejoined the group after an eight-year absence. As COO, he will oversee global operations across PPHG’s three brands: Pan Pacific, Parkroyal Collection and Parkroyal, which collectively span more than 50 hotels, resorts and serviced suites in over 30 cities across Asia Pacific, North America, Africa and Europe.

The promotion forms part of PPHG’s broader effort to build what chief executive officer Choe Peng Sum described as a “future-ready executive leadership team” capable of scaling the business while preserving brand integrity. “Craig brings the clarity, strategic approach and people-centric leadership required to scale our operations while preserving the integrity of our brands,” Choe said. “As PPHG advances into its next phase of growth, Craig will play a critical role in ensuring our ambitions turn into real outcomes.”

Bond brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience to the position, with a career trajectory that has taken him across Australia, Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. He began his career in the late 1990s as general manager at Constellation Hotel Group before progressing through senior leadership roles at Saville Hotel Group, Mirvac Hotels and Resorts and – in his first stint with PPHG – as area general manager for Oceania, based in Sydney.

He subsequently served as vice president of operations at Oakwood Worldwide in Singapore before being appointed executive vice president and COO at Bangkok-based Onyx Hospitality Group, where he led strategic planning and operational execution across the company’s portfolio. Bond then took on the role of managing director at La Vie Hotels & Resorts, an independent third-party operator, overseeing growth and operations across eight countries including Australia, Cambodia, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

In his new role, Bond will work closely with PPHG’s executive leadership team to strengthen operational discipline, develop talent capability across regions and harness technology to drive efficiency and elevate guest and employee experiences. “I am honoured to take on the role of chief operating officer at such an important moment for PPHG,” Bond said. “Building on the group’s strong momentum in recent years, I will work closely with our teams across regions to further strengthen our operational foundations, develop our people, and support the group’s ambitions as we continue to grow.”

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for PPHG, the wholly-owned hotel subsidiary of Singapore-listed UOL Group Limited. The company has been executing an ambitious Version 2.0 strategy focused on developing and enhancing its portfolio to meet evolving traveller expectations. Over the past two years, the group has successfully launched nine properties – including Pan Pacific Orchard in Singapore, Bellustar Tokyo and Hotel Groove Shinjuku in Japan, Parkroyal Langkawi Resort and Parkroyal A’Famosa Melaka Resort in Malaysia, and Pan Pacific Jakarta in Indonesia – with a pipeline that includes new openings in Kyoto, Dalian, Hanoi and Manila Bay.

PPHG has also made significant strides in sustainability. The group became the first Singapore-based hotel company to receive Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Multi-Site Certification across all eight of its Singapore properties, and subsequently became the first hospitality group in Oceania to achieve the same certification across all six of its Australian hotels – bringing its total GSTC-certified portfolio to 14 properties. In 2025, PPHG also launched the Pan Pacific Reserve Collection, a curated portfolio of its most luxurious properties representing the highest service standards across its brands.

With eight new hotels and serviced suites in the Southeast Asia pipeline alone, Bond’s operational oversight will be critical as PPHG navigates its expansion across one of the world’s fastest-growing hospitality markets. The Asia-Pacific serviced apartment market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 14.4 per cent from 2025 to 2030, according to Grand View Research – a trend PPHG is actively capitalising on through its refreshed Parkroyal Serviced Suites brand.
