MHV adds Moxy Athens City to its Greek hotel portfolio
The Athens addition expands MHV’s Greek presence, with the underlying transfer of hotel operator Rinascita completed in March 2026.

Moxy Athens City expands MHV’s Greek presence
Moxy Athens City has joined the portfolio of MHV Mediterranean Hospitality Venture, giving the group its first hotel in the Greek capital. The addition follows the transfer of the hotel’s operating company in March 2026, rather than a transaction newly completed this month.
In its portfolio announcement, MHV says it is taking the central Athens hotel under its management. The property is close to Omonia Square and joins the group’s existing Greek interests in Porto Heli and Paros.
A March transfer of the hotel operator
The group’s interim financial statements for the six months to 30 June 2026 establish the transaction’s structure and timing. MHV acquired all the shares in Rinascita SA on 24 March 2026 as part of a wider contribution of hospitality assets by its parent, Prodea Real Estate Investment Company.
Rinascita holds a long-term lease over the Athens building and operates it as Moxy Athens City. The accounts describe a hotel with 200 rooms and one suite. This is therefore an operating-company and leasehold interest, not evidence of a newly announced freehold purchase.
An established urban hotel, not a new opening
The Moxy-branded property opened in 2022, according to MHV. Its ninth-floor penthouse combines accommodation and event use, while a bar-led arrival experience reflects the brand’s social positioning.
Marriott’s current hotel listing places the property at 65 Stadiou Street and presents it to city-break guests, business travellers and remote workers. It also promotes music and cultural programming at the bar and rooftop suite. The hotel continues to appear under the Moxy brand in Marriott’s booking portfolio.
The operating question behind the portfolio move
For hospitality operators, the distinction between a new development and an existing hotel changing corporate ownership matters. This addition brings an operating business into MHV’s portfolio, with an established brand, guest proposition and urban location, rather than adding newly built room supply to Athens.
The practical opportunity is to connect the property with the group’s wider operating expertise while preserving the characteristics guests already associate with Moxy. Consistent service standards, local programming and coordination across accommodation and events are relevant operating priorities. Those are considerations for the integration, not evidence of an announced staffing change or a new investment programme.
