Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest has appointed Federico Daniele as bar manager of MÚZSA, bringing a bartender with experience in London, Barcelona and Rome into the leadership of its cocktail bar. The hotel announced the appointment on 19 October 2026; it did not provide a separate effective date.

Daniele’s brief combines the development of the drinks offer with a consistent approach to hospitality across the team. He arrives at an established venue with its own creative history, rather than a new outlet awaiting its first identity.

Federico Daniele’s remit at MÚZSA

According to the hotel’s appointment announcement, Daniele intends to draw on Hungarian ingredients, local artistic traditions and the architecture of Gresham Palace. His approach will accommodate familiar drinks alongside more experimental combinations.

The announcement also identifies mentorship, collaboration and connections with Budapest’s wider bartending community as priorities. These are intentions for the role, not reported outcomes or a published recruitment programme.

“Before competition, there must be community,” Daniele said in the announcement. That gives his arrival a people-development dimension as well as a beverage focus, with knowledge sharing presented as part of the bar’s future direction.

A career built across hotel bars and independent venues

Daniele’s official biography traces more than 15 years in hospitality. Originally from Rome, he started with seasonal work in southern Italy and subsequently worked in Amsterdam, gaining experience in kitchens and restaurants before moving towards bartending.

London provided the change of direction. After working at Aqua Shard, he took a barback position at The London EDITION to learn the discipline from the beginning. He later joined The Barcelona EDITION’s opening team, returned to London for head bartender roles, and continued his career at The Barcelona EDITION and Nobu Hotel Barcelona.

He then joined Boadas Cocktails in Barcelona at the invitation of Simone Caporale. During two years there, he helped develop the bar programme and team before moving to Drink Kong in Rome, where his work incorporated contemporary techniques and ingredients.

The Budapest role is his first Four Seasons assignment. His experience therefore spans both branded hotel operations and specialist cocktail businesses, a relevant combination for a hotel bar seeking an identity that can appeal beyond its resident guests.

An established venue within Gresham Palace

MÚZSA’s own venue website positions it around craft cocktails, Asian-inspired food and Budapest’s cultural heritage. The wider offer includes afternoon tea and live entertainment, giving the team different service occasions to manage rather than a single evening cocktail format.

Four Seasons’ current bar page lists its presence in 50 Best Discovery since 2024. That should not be confused with a numbered place in the annual World’s 50 Best Bars ranking.

The bar already has a record of collaborative menu development. In March 2026, the hotel introduced FEEL, a six-cocktail collection organised around memory and emotion. Its launch announcement credited the existing team with the concept, drinks and presentation. It predates Daniele’s appointment and should not be attributed to him.

Why the leadership transition matters

For hospitality operators, this appointment illustrates the breadth of a specialist bar-management role: maintaining service standards, developing colleagues and translating a venue’s setting into an offer guests can recognise. A distinctive drinks list is one part of that responsibility, alongside the everyday consistency of the welcome.

The next point to watch is how Daniele’s stated local and collaborative priorities take shape within MÚZSA’s existing operation. Four Seasons has not announced a new menu launch date, staffing target or wider refurbishment alongside the appointment.
