Regent Hong Kong has placed third in the Hong Kong and Macao hotel category of the US Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2026, recording a score of 98.98. The result adds another reader-voted accolade to the harbourfront hotel’s recent recognition as Regent rebuilds its position in international luxury hospitality.

The hotel announced the result on 12 October. It follows its inclusion among the inaugural recipients of the publication’s Triple Crown Award in June, which recognises properties appearing across the Hot List, Gold List and Readers’ Choice Awards.

Regent Hong Kong recognition is based on reader ratings

Condé Nast Traveler says its 2026 survey accepted ratings between 1 April and 30 June. Candidates needed a minimum response count and overall rating to qualify. Five-point assessments were converted into percentage scores, with the average published to two decimal places.

The criteria covered rooms, location, service, food, activities, facilities, design, concierge, community investment and spa and wellness. The result is therefore a measure of participating readers’ assessments, rather than a government classification or an independent operational audit.

That distinction matters when interpreting the hotel’s third-place finish. It is a position within the publication’s regional Hong Kong and Macao category, not a claim that Regent is the world’s third-best hotel.

A harbourfront property with several demand drivers

The 497-room and suite hotel was reimagined by architect and designer Chi Wing Lo. Its position on Victoria Harbour remains central to the property’s identity, from its accommodation to the public spaces used by diners and event guests.

Regent’s current restaurant and bar line-up includes Cantonese restaurant Lai Ching Heen, The Steak House, Harbourside, Nobu Hong Kong, The Lobby Lounge and Qura Bar. The hotel is also promoting The Terrace, an indoor-outdoor waterfront venue, for private viewings and event enquiries.

For the business, those outlets provide distinct ways to introduce the property to customers beyond an overnight stay. Reader recognition can support that positioning, although the award announcement does not establish a resulting change in room rates, occupancy or event demand.

Part of Regent’s wider luxury story

The award sits alongside a broader brand development programme. WINC has previously examined Regent’s repositioning under IHG ownership and the planned conversion of InterContinental Bora Bora into Regent’s first French Polynesia resort.

For Hong Kong, the immediate news is narrower but clear: a high-scoring regional result in a reader survey, adding to the hotel’s visibility without changing the basis on which the accolade was awarded.
