Hyatt Hotels Corporation and development partner RLH Properties officially opened Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol in December 2025, marking the brand’s first entry into Mexico. The launch positions Los Cabos — one of Latin America’s most competitive luxury travel markets — as the starting point for a broader Park Hyatt expansion across the country.
Set within the private Cabo del Sol community along Baja California Sur’s Golden Corridor, the resort sits on a 26-acre property that stretches along two miles of Pacific coastline.
Design rooted in place
The property was conceived by an internationally significant design team. Mexico City-based architects Sordo Madaleno and interior designer Paulina Morán led the project, with concept design by Yabu Pushelburg and contributions from George Wong Design. The resulting architecture draws deliberately on the duality of the Baja landscape: desert heat meeting coastal openness, natural stone textures set against sweeping ocean views.
All 163 guestrooms and 88 suites face either the ocean or the resort grounds, with private terraces or patios as standard. Entry-level rooms measure 649 square feet, while standard suites begin at 956 square feet and include private plunge pools. Three standalone villas — two with two bedrooms and one three-bedroom presidential configuration — offer full kitchens and private pools for guests seeking a residential-style experience.

Culinary identity and dining
Culinary direction sits with Executive Chef Miguel Gomez, whose programme draws explicitly on Mexican and regional heritage. Mesa Madre, the resort’s all-day restaurant, pays homage to the traditions of Mexican and Latin American home cooking. Costamar Beach Club delivers a casual beachfront experience with antojitos, small plates and seasonal seafood. Dátil Coffee Shop sources beans from Chiapas, Oaxaca and Veracruz.
Silán, a Mediterranean restaurant, is scheduled to open in spring 2026, along with the Araya Spa — a 59,000-square-foot wellness facility with treatments informed by the pace and landscape of Baja California Sur.
A competitive market entry
Los Cabos has attracted significant luxury hotel investment in recent years. The Cabo del Sol community itself is home to the Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas, which opened in May 2024, placing the Park Hyatt in direct proximity to one of the world’s most recognised luxury brands. Rosewood, Auberge and other high-end operators have also established a presence in the wider region.
General Manager Adam Zilber described the opening as an opportunity to invite guests to experience Baja with intention, through architecture inspired by the desert and sea, and cuisine rooted in local tradition.
The resort also includes 34,500 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting and event space, positioning it for the corporate retreats and incentive travel market that commands strong year-round occupancy in Los Cabos.

Residences and long-term revenue
Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol incorporates a residential component: 19 branded residences, comprising 11 villas and eight apartments, available for purchase in four- to six-bedroom configurations. Each residence is fully furnished and designed around biophilic principles, using hand-finished stone, native woods and custom furnishings sourced from Mexican craftspeople.
Branded residences have become a significant revenue and brand-building tool for luxury hotel operators globally. For Hyatt, attaching Park Hyatt’s name to owned properties in Mexico deepens its footprint beyond transient stays and creates long-term community within the destination.
Mexico expansion underway
Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is explicitly positioned as the first step in a wider Mexican strategy. Park Hyatt Mexico City and Park Hyatt Cancun are both expected to open in 2026, extending the brand’s reach from the Pacific coast to the capital and the Caribbean. For Hyatt, which reported more than 1,450 properties in 82 countries as of late 2025, Mexico represents one of the more significant near-term growth markets in its luxury tier.
