Davidson Hospitality Group has reorganised its commercial services function, promoting Patrick Broderick and Harry Carr to the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Commercial Optimization, and appointing Kathryn Collins as Vice President, Marketing. The moves, announced by Chief Operating Officer Jason Reader, signal a deliberate effort to sharpen commercial accountability across the Atlanta-based company’s four operating verticals as it pursues continued portfolio growth.
Patrick Broderick – SVP, Commercial Optimization, Davidson Hotels and Davidson Resorts
Broderick brings more than 37 years of hospitality experience to his elevated position, where he assumes oversight of all commercial disciplines – sales, revenue management and marketing – for Davidson Hotels and Davidson Resorts. He joined Davidson in 2021 as Vice President of Sales and Revenue Management for Davidson Resorts and has since been a central figure in the division’s commercial performance.
His career was built largely at Marriott International, where he rose to Vice President of Sales for a region encompassing more than 60 Marriott hotels, including 18 resorts and luxury properties. Across his tenure, he has overseen revenue operations in excess of $2 billion, a track record that underpins his mandate to drive commercial optimisation at scale.
Harry Carr – SVP, Commercial Optimization, Pivot and high-profile properties
Carr’s promotion recognises a decade of contribution to Davidson and, in particular, his foundational role in building the Pivot lifestyle vertical from the ground up. He joined Davidson in 2016 at the launch of Pivot and was instrumental in its early development, beginning with the repositioning of Hotel Zephyr in San Francisco. Under his stewardship, Pivot grew from a single property into a substantive lifestyle portfolio within the broader Davidson family. In his new role, Carr leads commercial optimisation for Pivot and other high-profile properties across the Davidson portfolio.
He brings more than 30 years of experience across both independent and branded hotel environments, with prior roles at SBE, Viceroy Hotel Group, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels & Resorts – a background that spans the full spectrum of the upper-upscale and lifestyle segments.
Kathryn Collins – VP, Marketing
Collins joins Davidson from Remington Hospitality, where she served as Senior Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy, leading execution across paid media, website development, analytics, creative and market research. Earlier in her career, she held the role of Director of Brand Marketing at Bryte, a luxury technology start-up, where she led brand and marketing strategy. She also spent more than 12 years at Marriott International, progressing through a series of marketing roles across the organisation. At Davidson, she will drive tactical marketing execution across the company’s portfolio.
Strategic context
The appointments come as Davidson Hospitality Group pursues an active growth agenda. The company, founded in 1974, operates four verticals – Davidson Hotels, Davidson Resorts, Pivot and Davidson Restaurant Group – and recently promoted Steve Contos to a newly created role of Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Luxury and International, as part of a wider push into the luxury segment. Davidson also ranked highest in overall guest satisfaction in J.D. Power’s 2024 North America Third-Party Hotel Management Guest Satisfaction Benchmark, a distinction that underlines the commercial and operational standards the new leadership team will be expected to sustain and extend.
Reader noted the significance of the internal promotions. “We are proud to announce the promotion of two key leaders in our organisation as part of our commitment to promote talent internally,” he said.
