Remington Hospitality has promoted Amy Grinnell-Epperson to Executive Vice President of Human Resources, recognising her transformative impact on the company’s people strategy since joining the Ashford group of companies in 2023.
Grinnell-Epperson brings more than 15 years of human resources leadership experience spanning retail, healthcare technology and hospitality. In her expanded role, she leads a team of 10 professionals and oversees multiple organisations under Ashford Companies, with responsibilities encompassing corporate HR, compensation, communications, event management and facilities operations.
Her career at Remington has been marked by rapid advancement. She joined as Vice President of People & Culture in March 2023, earned promotion to Senior Vice President in December 2024, and now assumes the executive vice president position – a trajectory that reflects her strategic contributions to the organisation.
Cross-sector HR expertise
Before joining Remington, Grinnell-Epperson served as Director of HR Business Partner at McKesson Technology from August 2021 to March 2023, supporting technology teams across the United States, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Her retail background includes more than five years at The Michaels Companies, where she advanced to Senior Director of Human Resources, leading a team supporting generalised functions for the support centre and Asian operations.
She spent nearly four years at JCPenney as Senior HR Manager for Design, Product Development, Sourcing and Global Product Services, overseeing a team supporting more than 800 colleagues. Her career foundation includes more than five years at Kohl’s Department Stores, where she developed college recruitment programmes that positioned the retailer as an employer of choice – an experience she cites as her entry point into human resources.
Grinnell-Epperson holds a Bachelor of Science in Retail from Texas Tech University and completed a study abroad programme in English Literature at the University of Oxford. She is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, where Remington maintains its headquarters.
Strategic HR transformation
At Remington, Grinnell-Epperson has established HR as a strategic business partner rather than a purely administrative function. Her collaborative approach with senior leadership has enabled the development of initiatives aligned with commercial objectives while driving meaningful organisational change. She has championed the company’s “Room to Thrive” culture philosophy, which emphasises creating space for associates to grow professionally and personally.
Her work aligns with Remington’s people-first approach that has delivered measurable results. The company has achieved associate engagement scores in the 90th percentile for the hospitality sector, with 92 per cent of staff reporting high engagement levels. Leadership turnover has fallen below pre-pandemic levels, supporting operational stability across the portfolio.
Company momentum
Remington Hospitality manages more than 120 hotels across 27 states and Washington DC, representing 33 brands including 16 independent and boutique properties. Founded in 1968, the Dallas-based company generates nearly $1.2 billion in revenue under management and has seeded investments to potentially double its scale within five years.
The company operates as a wholly owned portfolio company of Ashford Inc., which also advises Ashford Hospitality Trust and Braemar Hotels & Resorts. Recent leadership changes include the appointment of Ben Perelmuter as Chief Executive Officer in June 2025, succeeding Sloan Dean after eight years. Jason Kreul joined as Chief Operating Officer in August 2025, followed by Cory Chambers as Chief Commercial Officer.
Remington has expanded its international presence with properties in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Grand Cayman and Mexico, with ONE|GT in Grand Cayman scheduled to open as the Caribbean’s first luxury urban residential hotel. The company’s growth strategy emphasises strategic partnerships with well-funded owners rather than rapid acquisition-driven expansion.
Grinnell-Epperson’s promotion positions Remington to strengthen its talent infrastructure as the company pursues continued growth across North America, the Caribbean and Latin America.
