Denver-based Peregrine Hospitality has appointed Stacy Galligan as chief financial officer, bringing extensive financial leadership experience across high-growth consumer brands to the full-service hotel company.
Galligan succeeds Tom Barber, who will remain with the firm to support a seamless transition and provide ongoing strategic advisory services. She will oversee finance, accounting and capital planning as Peregrine continues to expand its portfolio of 92 properties spanning the United States, Fiji, the Maldives, Mauritius and Thailand.
The appointment comes as Peregrine positions itself for continued growth following its rebranding from KSL Resorts in early 2024. The company manages distinctive resorts and boutique hotels with amenities including spa, golf, tennis and ski facilities, alongside a collection of select-service properties owned by Mission Hill Hospitality.
Galligan joins Peregrine from Embark, where she served as managing director and practice leader, overseeing finance and accounting consulting services for clients across multiple industries. In this role, she applied her financial expertise across a broad range of business sectors, building on her track record of leading finance organisations through periods of significant change.
Her career trajectory demonstrates consistent advancement through chief financial officer positions at prominent consumer-facing brands. At Pure Barre, she led financial operations across more than 500 studio locations throughout the United States and Canada. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in driving strategy and execution that lifted same-store sales out of a two-year decline and back to consistent positive growth.
As chief financial officer at Punch Bowl Social, the eatertainment concept, Galligan brought expertise in pre-IPO preparation and financial planning during a period of aggressive expansion. She joined the company as it aimed to scale from 15 to multiple locations nationwide, working alongside leadership to strengthen financial controls and processes.
Prior to these roles, Galligan served as interim chief financial officer and vice president and corporate controller at Smashburger, managing financial operations across more than 380 restaurant locations in 35 states and eight countries. Her experience also includes director-level accounting positions at Gogo Business Aviation and director of technical accounting at Vail Resorts, where she developed expertise in hospitality financial operations.
Early in her career, Galligan held financial reporting roles at Crocs and worked as a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, establishing a strong foundation in accounting and financial management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Santa Clara University.
“I look forward to building on Peregrine’s track record of growth by deepening financial discipline, enhancing visibility, and positioning the company for its next stage of expansion,” Galligan said.
The appointment follows Peregrine’s recent naming of Kristen Richter as chief commercial officer earlier this month. Richter joined from Accor, where she served as chief commercial officer for the Fairmont and Raffles brands, adding to the company’s expanded leadership team.
Under Kennealey’s direction, Peregrine has broadened its platform beyond traditional resort management. The company added 26 select-service properties to its management portfolio over the past year, demonstrating its commitment to growth across all asset classes in the hospitality sector. The portfolio now includes high-profile leisure destinations, boutique hotels and premium select-service properties across 17 states and international markets.
Kennealey was appointed chief executive officer in 2024 whilst the company still operated as KSL Resorts. The rebranding to Peregrine Hospitality – derived from the Latin word “peregrinus,” meaning traveller – reflects the company’s evolution and expansion strategy. The name draws inspiration from the Peregrine Falcon, the world’s fastest bird, symbolising the company’s operational precision, agility and wide-ranging capabilities.
Peregrine offers a complete range of services including hotel and resort management, development and project management, and global sales support. The company follows an owner-operator approach and philosophy, with a structure designed to leverage its expertise in hospitality management, development and acquisitions to lead investments and manage properties throughout key global markets.
