IHG expands Vignette Collection across Greater China
IHG's Vignette Collection adds hotels across mainland China and Hong Kong, combining individual property identities with its global hotel network.

IHG is expanding Vignette Collection across Greater China, with additions in six mainland destinations and the recent arrival of The Hari Hong Kong in the luxury hotel collection.
In an update on 15 October, the group highlighted hotels joining in Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beidaihe, Qiandao Lake and Sanya during 2026. The spread combines urban addresses with coastal and resort locations.
Vignette Collection builds around individual hotel identities
The properties retain their own names and character. IHG’s latest examples include bridge-inspired design at TFT Chongqing and Art Deco influences at THE ONE Shanghai Downtown.
At Shanghai Snow World Hotel, the guest programme includes an après-ski gathering and introductory skiing sessions. Palm Springs Hotel Chengdu draws on local embroidery and fragrance-making, while Resea Hotel Beidaihe uses its coastal setting for a sunrise activity.
The update also points to community and operational initiatives, including The Hari Art Prize in Hong Kong and the use of food waste and coffee grounds for compost at The Azure Ningbo.
The Hari adds scale to the collection partnership
The Hong Kong addition follows IHG’s August franchise agreement with Harilela Group. That deal covers the 210-room Hong Kong hotel, the 85-room The Hari London and the conversion of the 324-room Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre into The Hari Singapore in 2027.
The agreement extends a relationship between IHG and Harilela spanning more than five decades. For the owner, the collection structure connects an established hotel identity to IHG’s distribution and loyalty network.
IHG’s current booking page lists The Hari Hong Kong as open within Vignette Collection. The Wan Chai property sits between the area’s commercial and creative districts, with interiors by Tara Bernerd.
What this means for hotel operators
The practical challenge is consistency without losing the identity that makes each property distinctive. Local partnerships, activities and service routines need to be delivered reliably by hotel teams, alongside the reservation and loyalty systems of a global operator.
The expansion gives owners another example of a collection model spanning several types of destination. It does not, by itself, establish how the individual hotels are performing.
