New Texas filings set out a US$17 million guestroom renovation at Hilton Houston Westchase and a separate US$991,553 public-space project at Hyatt Regency Houston West, with both programmes scheduled into 2027.

Hilton Houston Westchase and Hyatt Regency Houston West have registered separate renovation projects with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), adding new detail to investment plans for two established hotels serving west Houston’s corporate travel and meetings market.

The records distinguish the scope at each property. Hilton’s filing covers accommodation areas, while Hyatt’s covers first-floor public facilities. Both entries currently carry “Project Registered” status, so the dates represent filed construction schedules rather than confirmation that work has begun or finished.

Hilton Houston Westchase: US$17 million for accommodation areas

The Hilton Houston Westchase Guestrooms filing, registered on 13 October 2026, lists an estimated cost of US$17 million. Work at 9999 Westheimer Road is scheduled to start on 1 December 2026 and finish on 1 July 2027.

The registered scope covers guestrooms, guestroom bathrooms and corridors across 157,000 square feet. Portfolio for Hospitality is named as the design firm, with MLSA Deal 2, LP listed as owner. These are the particulars of the registered accommodation project, rather than a cost breakdown for every improvement previously announced at the hotel.

American Liberty Hospitality announced its acquisition of the 297-key property with Escalera Capital in 2025 and said it would lead day-to-day operations. The investment therefore sits within an established ownership and operating programme.

Earlier plans provide context, not a current completion date

Houston First’s October 2025 account described a broader transformation spanning the lobby, accommodation and meeting facilities. It identified 260 standard rooms and 37 suites, with plans for movable worktables and redesigned bathrooms.

That earlier announcement also described improvements to 13,000 square feet of meeting space and a proposed 18,000-square-foot event lawn. It linked the property’s business mix to energy-sector travellers, corporate gatherings, weddings and leisure stays.

Houston First’s earlier target was mid-2026. The newly registered guestroom project instead runs to July 2027. The documents should be read as dated statements of their respective plans; they do not establish when every element of the wider transformation will be delivered.

Hyatt Regency Houston West: public areas in focus

At 13210 Katy Freeway, the Hyatt Regency Houston West filing was registered on 15 October 2026. It gives an estimated cost of US$991,553 and a scheduled construction window from 15 January to 15 April 2027.

The 55,952-square-foot scope includes reception, the restaurant, Black & Gold Bar, restrooms, the Texas Ballroom, meeting rooms, fitness centre, elevator lobby and outdoor porch. HREC Partners LLC is named as owner and Studio RYS as design firm.

This filing concerns public space. It does not supply a guestroom renovation budget or timetable, and the registered amount should not be presented as the cost of a complete hotel refurbishment.

Hyatt’s current property FAQ already lists Black Gold as an operating speakeasy-style bar. The new filing names the bar within the renovation scope but does not establish a launch date for a new venue.

What meeting planners should establish next

For corporate travel buyers and event organisers, the distinction between bedroom works and public-space works matters. Room allocations, meeting-room access, food-and-beverage service and arrival arrangements can be affected differently by each programme.

Neither registration provides a detailed guest-disruption plan. Buyers considering stays or events during the filed windows should seek property-specific confirmation of available facilities and construction arrangements before committing. The investment is documented; the day-to-day delivery plan requires a separate conversation with each hotel.
