Rimrock Banff brings Emblems Collection to North America
The Canadian resort becomes Emblems Collection's first North American address following a CAD115 million transformation, with 320 rooms including 57 suites.

Rimrock Banff has joined Accor’s Emblems Collection following a CAD115 million transformation, becoming the luxury collection’s first hotel in North America. The Canadian Rockies resort has 320 guestrooms, including 57 suites.
Accor confirmed the debut in a release dated 7 October 2026. A separate announcement from the Banff property describes the completed investment and its ownership by Oxford Properties Group and a capital partner.
A new chapter for Rimrock Banff
California-based Studio Collective led the redesign. The building’s terraced structure and extensive windows place the surrounding mountains at the centre of the interiors, while the lobby combines a copper fireplace with stone flooring and carved wood details.
Public spaces feature 48 contemporary artworks selected by nAscent Art New York, including pieces by Canadian artists. The collection draws on the rivers, mountains and natural setting of Banff.
The resort also has more than 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space across 11 venues. Its Solstice Ballroom can accommodate up to 600 guests, giving the property capacity for conferences, retreats and celebrations alongside leisure stays.
Wellness and outdoor experiences
The Bathhouse combines indoor and outdoor facilities, including heated pools, saunas, a steam room and cold immersion. A suspended meditation room and the Aurora sensory room provide quieter spaces. Outdoors, heated paths connect facilities overlooking the Bow Valley.
The property’s published wellness programme also offers yoga, strength sessions and guided movement. Technogym and Peloton equipment sit alongside a bouldering wall, while private sessions include personal training, breathwork and meditation.
An Expeditions Centre supports more than 50 seasonal activities, with the resort’s Pathfinders arranging experiences ranging from guided hiking to cultural encounters.
What the partners said
General manager David Garcelon said the redevelopment was intended to strengthen guests’ connection with the national park. Oxford Properties executive Tyler Seaman described the investment as part of the owner’s commitment to preserving its landmark Canadian hotels.
Emblems expands beyond Europe
Rimrock follows Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa in England as Emblems Collection’s second global opening. Accor positions the collection around distinctive properties whose architecture, service and experiences reflect their destinations.
The October announcements confirm the resort’s introduction to the collection but do not establish a single precise reopening day. The focus is the completed transformation and Emblems’ first operational address on the continent.
