RIVEO, the Mauritius-listed owner of Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita and Shangri-La Le Touessrok, has appointed Gregory Coquet as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2026. He steps up from his role as Chief Operations and Asset Management Officer.

Gregory Coquet’s new role

The appointment forms part of a leadership succession announced by CIEL Group. François Eynaud retired from executive responsibilities on 30 September 2026 and remains a Non-Executive Director and strategic adviser, while Joelle Edwards-Tonks has become Chief Executive Officer of Sunlife.

In its announcement, RIVEO said: “Having played an important role in the structuring and management of RIVEO’s portfolio, Gregory brings a strong understanding of our business, our assets and our ambitions for the future.”

Career background

Coquet has more than two decades of international hospitality experience across resort operations and asset management. A graduate of Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland, he began his career in Europe, including as a project manager at Potel & Chabot, Senior Sales Manager at Le Crillon and in operations roles with Kempinski in Switzerland, according to TourMaG.

After moving to Mauritius, he joined Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury as Deputy Director in 2016 and became its General Director in February 2017. He went on to lead Shangri-La Le Touessrok as General Manager for more than four years before joining RIVEO in March 2025 to oversee operations, L’Echo touristique reported.

About RIVEO

RIVEO emerged from a restructuring of Sun Limited and listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius in November 2024. Through its subsidiaries it owns Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita and Shangri-La Le Touessrok, as well as leisure operations on Île aux Cerfs, including golf, African Markets reported at the time of listing.

Why the appointment matters

Coquet takes charge with first-hand knowledge of RIVEO’s assets, having run one of its two flagship resorts and then helped structure the wider portfolio. That continuity matters for a young listed company whose value rests on two internationally branded resorts. For more luxury resort leadership news, see Mark Kirby’s appointment at One&Only Resorts.
