DoubleTree by Hilton makes Singapore debut with 344-room Robertson Quay hotel

The former Hotel Miramar on Havelock Road has reopened after a year-long refurbishment as the brand’s first hotel in Singapore, with 224 of its 344 rooms facing the Singapore River.

Hilton has opened DoubleTree by Hilton Singapore Robertson Quay, bringing the DoubleTree brand to Singapore for the first time. The 344-room hotel at 401 Havelock Road opened on 30 September 2026 and is managed by Hilton.

The property is a conversion of Hotel Miramar, which operated on the riverfront site from 1972 until it closed at the end of October 2025. Asset manager Aravest and developer Wee Hur Property acquired the hotel for S$160 million, according to Mothership, and chose to refurbish the existing building rather than redevelop it.

Rooms and river views

The hotel’s 344 rooms and suites range from 24 to 50 square metres. Of these, 224 overlook the Singapore River, while the remaining 120 face the surrounding neighbourhood.

The mix includes king, queen and twin rooms, rooms with pull-out sofa beds, four Deluxe Suites, three accessible rooms and 11 connecting rooms aimed at families.

Dining, meetings and wellness

Two food and beverage concepts anchor the public spaces. SAUS is an all-day restaurant built around comfort food and heritage cooking techniques, with more than 40 house-made condiments organised into what the hotel calls its “Four Corners of Flavour”. Brew:33 is a 64-seat neighbourhood café-bar serving specialty coffee, craft beer and light bites.

For events, the hotel has seven meeting rooms each accommodating 20 to 40 guests. Two of them, Clemenceau I and II, combine to host up to 70. Leisure facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre, a wellness studio and an outdoor pool with daybeds and cabanas.

Location

The hotel sits on the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, within walking distance of Chinatown, Tiong Bahru and Clarke Quay and close to the Central Business District. Havelock MRT Station is a five-minute walk away.

Alexandra Murray, Area Vice President and Regional Head, Southeast Asia at Hilton, said in the opening announcement: “Singapore continues to be a key market for Hilton in South East Asia, valued for its strong business community, global connectivity, and enduring appeal to travellers from around the world.”

A conversion-led debut

The deal was announced in November 2025, when Hilton described the rebrand as an example of helping owners refresh and reposition existing assets. Maria Ariizumi, Hilton’s Vice President, Development, Southeast Asia, said at the time that rebranding the property as DoubleTree “is another chance to show how Hilton helps owners efficiently refresh and reposition assets”.

Hilton said then that the signing took its Singapore pipeline to more than 500 rooms, alongside the planned NoMad Singapore. Other recent additions to the city’s hotel supply include Varel Singapore in Selegie.

DoubleTree by Hilton has more than 700 hotels in 63 countries, and Hilton’s wider portfolio spans 28 brands and more than 9,400 properties. Hilton is also expanding in Europe, where it is preparing its first hotel in Valencia.

Why it matters

The opening gives DoubleTree a foothold in Singapore through conversion rather than new-build construction. By retaining the 1970s riverside building and refurbishing it in about a year, Aravest, Wee Hur Property and Hilton have returned 344 rooms to the Robertson Quay market under an international brand.
